Our organization is purely a volunteer organization. S.H.A.R.E volunteers have fallen in love with the German Shepherd Dog breed and donate their time, money, emotions and skills to rescue these amazing dogs.
S.H.A.R.E. rescues German Shepherd Dogs and German Shepherd Dog mixes, generally in the South Florida area. Our dogs come into rescue for different reasons. Most are abandoned at high kill shelters in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. Some are rescued from the streets by Good Samaritans. Some are surrendered by owner who can not properly care for them.
When a dog comes into our rescue, the dog is evaluated and treated by a veterinarian, given all necessary vaccines and is spayed/neutered and micro-chipped. Sadly, many of our rescues need significant medical care for conditions such as heartworms, tick borne diseases, malnutrition, stomach conditions, mange, orthopedic issues, and sometimes even injuries inflicted by their former owners.
Regardless of how they come to S.H.A.R.E, our goal is to find them a loving, safe permanent home where they will be a beloved family member.
